Project challenges

Invicta’s Durasteel division has recently completed a fire protection project in London for British Telecom (BT).

The clients’ requirement was to protect a cable encasement containing vital data and telecommunication cables.

Technical constraints

The cables were suspended directly above an outdoor carpark, and were at serious risk if a vehicle parked below were to catch fire.

Installed solution

Invicta’s solution was to design and install a 4 sided self-supporting Durasteel cable encasement to protect the cables from a fire breakout below. The encasement was 22m in length, providing 4 hour integrity fire protection to the data and telecommunication cables.
