The Durasteel E120 2 hour fire rated Cable Encasement system is constructed from a single 9.5mm thick Durasteel panel, supported by a 50 x 50 x 3mm steel angle framework. The framework comprises of four 50 x 50 x 3mm steel running angles, with mitred and welded or cleated flanges at either end to form a skeletal box. The running angles are cleated to the flanges and the flanges may be made in two halves and cleated together on site to allow for installation around installed cable runs. The angle flanges are fastened together with M10 x 25 long bolts, nuts and washers at each corner and at a maximum of 250mm centres along all four edges of the flange. The Durasteel sheet is fastened to the framework using M5.5 x 38mm long self-drilling, self-tapping Tek screws at 200mm centres, with the fixings being positioned a minimum of 12mm and maximum of 20mm from board edge and a minimum of 50mm and maximum of 100mm from the board corners (ie. 2 fixings per corner).
The Durasteel cable enclosure is supported at 1500mm centres along the length of the run by a minimum 50 x 50 x 6mm steel angle bearer. The bearer is hung from two lengths of M20 drop rod studding, bolted through 125 x 65 x 200mm long steel channel brackets, which are fixed to the slab using two M10 x 75mm anchor bolts.
